Nice little video from the creators of the Raspberry Pi about the impact the 35$ had on kids all arround the world. One very interesting quote:

We now have more applicants to study computer science at Cambridge than we had during the height of the dotcom boom.

And with some nifty user friendly projects like the Kano kit that can teach kids computer programming and develop an interest for all those tech little gadgets we ought to see even more applicants in the future. Especially now that the Raspberry Pi 2 is almost shipping, twice the memory and 6x the computing power, always for the same 35$ price.
