Another little discovery adventure from the fine folks at iFixIt! The Smart Battery Case is earning it’s name not just because it’s charging and displaying seperate battery information on iOS, but also with a well thought off design to make the case sturdy and to protect the battery. iFixIt found T3 torx screws and a little metal battery door inside. Everything has lots of glue to make sure it all stays in place.

No real surprise here perhaps the battery connector is worth mentioning? The battery is a 1877mAh (7.13Whr) battery, my estimation of 1422mAh was way off and that’s a good thing since it means Apple probably advertised a lower number to stay on the safe side.
