What the 9.7-Inch iPad Pro Screen Technology Really Means
We are on the precipice, the prescribed of new display technology and Apple has already embraced the jump, so should you. In the newest iPad Pro, the screen integrates new technologies to both represent colour accurately and offer a more comfortable than ever-visual experience.
We know about True Tone, and having one in front of me I can’t go back to a non-True Tone display. As a matter of fact, switching from the iPad Pro to the Thunderbolt Display is irritating to my eyes. The opposite move is not.
It also has a wider colour gamut. What does this mean? Well, it represents colours with more accuracy and basically shows you more colours than any previous screens would. That is all great and dandy, but what does it mean?
Craig Hockenberry of Icon Factory wrote a great explanation on IF’s website. You should definitely go read it. You can finally see what difference it makes by comparing sRGB photos with DCI-P3 compatible photos. He even went as far as comparing the two photos by doing a diff in Photoshop.
This screen technology should really get into all of our screens ASAP!
